Kemi Folarin is the founder of Young People Matter Charity (YPM), Aspire to Elevate Training Centre (AtE) and the Author of ‘The best H.E.L.P book (Holistic Examples of Learned Practices)’. In 2007 Kemi Folarin began Young People Matter (YPM) at only 22, and having never ran a charity before she began with a simple aim. From its humble beginnings YPM now provides: After School Clubs in six schools in Lambeth, Half Term and Holiday Clubs, Youth Services and Community Outreach across London. YPM also employs a team of 37 full-time and part-time staff, working across Lambeth.

Kemi and YPM, have been the recipient of numerous awards including: ‘Best Community Project’ at the South London Press, Our Heroes Award (2009), and winner of ITV and National Lottery Community Fund’s The People’s Millions (2014) and ‘Most Dedicated Community Leader’ (2014).
