Children on the 7 Plus and 11 Plus programmes extensively cover all topics required. They are prepared for the entrance exams by practising story formats and topics which are known to be repeated.
For those enrolled on our 11 Plus programme, a rigorous practise of different exam type questions is covered including GL, CEM, grammar school and independent school formats – with particular focus on exam techniques, time-keeping and, when required, interview preparation is covered.

7 Plus Programme
Children looking to start Year 3 at an independent school sit the 7 Plus exam whilst in Year 2. The exam which includes a maths, English and sometimes reasoning, can be taken around January and February, although some schools do so earlier or later than this. The 7 Plus maths and English programme at Ant Learning includes the reasoning components. To request a copy of the curriculum, please use our contact form.
In addition to the written test, an interview with the school principal or another representative may be required. Our interview programme will help your child put their best foot forward.

Students wishing to attend a grammar school or selective private secondary must sit the 11 Plus exam. The 11 Plus examination, which usually takes place in September is run by two exam boards: CEM and GL Assessment. Our 11 Plus curriculum covers all the topics to be tested by these two exam boards.
We usually encourage parents to start preparing their children for the exam as early as possible to give their children the best chance of excelling. 11+ programme includes past paper exam practice.
